Damian loves his music. I mean, REALLY loves his music.
Boasting a CD collection that has almost forced him out onto the street, the man is a music nut.
He was the Music Director at JOY 94.9 in Melbourne for almost ten years, resigning from the post in early 2009. In his volunteer role at JOY, he regularly unearthed the latest music, being the first to break it in a sometimes dull and uninteresting music arena.
He also compiled or co-compiled ten of the station’s 12 CD releases, the last of which was released in late 2008.
Taking his love of music one step further, Damian also provided music consultancy services to the production team at Dancing With The Stars (Granada) for seasons three, four and five of the Channel 7 hit, regularly letting producers know what was to come, who was touring, who was hot and who was not. Could it also have been his suggestion of a disco special way back then that brought the idea to life in series seven (2007)?
Damian has more recently created the Australian music blog ‘auspOp‘, putting his music expertise to good use in providing release and tour information, reviews, video content and much more. Since it’s inception midway through 2008, it’s already garnering almost 40,000 unique visitors every single month.
